This is a good sized litter of Brazilian Rainbow Boas soon after birth. Parturition of an entire litter can occur in as little as fifteen minutes leaving a large pile of nondispersed babies as seen here. Sometimes parturition can take several hours and result in the litter scattering before all the babies have been born. Extended parturtion can also result in higher rates of stillbirths.
