There are quite a few slugs in this litter. Slugs are usually unfertilized egg masses. In some cases they may have been fertilized and the fetus died very early in development. Slugs are often due to suboptimal sperm production by the male snake or improper temperatures during gestation. Some females seem more prone to producing slugs than others which may indicate a problem in fertilization of the egg cells within the females body.
