For many years I was uncertain about the identity of this snake. I recently had a conversation with Dr. David Faubius of Uraguay and he told me that snakes looking like this routinely turn up in litters of Argentinain Rainbow Boas. I got the snake among some imported Argentinian Rainbows and so I am now relatively certain that this snake is Epicrates cenchria alvarezi.
